Job Summary
We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to support the design and implementation of control systems and life safety systems for advanced industrial facilities. This role involves developing I&C design packages, supporting automation and control system design, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams during design, construction, and startup phases.
This is an onsite role in Boise, ID and is contract-to-hire with relocation assistance potentially available for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Life Safety System design packages
- Prepare P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and control narratives
- Support PLC and DCS control system design and integration
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Review vendor submittals and technical documentation
- Assist with startup, testing, and commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with fire alarm and life safety system standards

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 4+ years of experience with Instrumentation & Controls or Life Safety Systems
- Experience developing complete I&C design documentation
- Knowledge of PLC, DCS, and control system applications
- Familiarity with Fire Alarm and Life Safety System regulations

Preferred Qualifications
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification
- Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities
- Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, UL 508A, and NFPA 72
- Familiarity with Siemens PLC systems or Edwards EST3/EST4 fire alarm systems
