Job Description

About the job

Leanspace is a leading provider of software solutions for space operations. We build and operate the Leanspace platform, an ecosystem of APIs and data-handling services to run mission-critical systems, and offer, on top of it, a catalogue of standard products. Our software supports many space engineering activities, ranging from satellite testing to in-orbit operations.

Our customers are large enterprises, space agencies, armed forces, and innovative newspace startups, running exciting space programs such as Earth observation satellites, satcom constellations, in-orbit services vehicles, orbital platforms, launchers, space cargo, and global ground station networks. We provide them with the data and software ecosystem to test and operate their space assets with unprecedented agility, security, and scalability.

Founded in 2020, Leanspace has quickly become a key player in the global ground segment market, working with high-profile customers in Europe, the United States, and other regions, as well as securing the support of prestigious investors and governments. The company operates from its HQ in Strasbourg, France, an international, beautiful city at the heart of Europe, rich in culture, nature, and host to the European institutions, as well as from its office in Denver, Colorado, a fast-growing, vibrant hub of space activities in the USA.

We’ve built an international team of 17+ nationalities, the driving force behind our ambitious mission to reshape the satellite ground segment market. We’re looking for driven, ambitious talents to join us and keep pushing the boundaries of space technology!

Mission

To accelerate its growth strategy, Leanspace is opening a new position to head our product-led go-to-market strategy, targeting mainly commercial satellite and launcher operators.

We are looking for a senior product sales specialist who will be responsible for driving repeat revenue for our standard products. The Head of Product Sales manages complex sales cycles, identifies strategic market opportunities, and acts as the vital link between the Product team and the end customer, ensuring that the standard solution perfectly aligns with market demands.

Unlike a generalist sales manager, the Head of Product Sales possesses the depth of knowledge required to reassure technical stakeholders (e.g. CTO, Head of Satellite Operations) while simultaneously speaking the language of "ROI" to decision-makers (e.g. CEO, CFO).

You will report to our CCO and have close interactions with the founders and the Executive team. Your current portfolio consists of several off-the-shelf products, and several others that are currently under discovery. On top of your own sales efforts, you will manage a small team of sales specialists who will report to you.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Closing: Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, from strategic prospecting to closing high-value contracts with key accounts. A strong experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across levels of management is required. Proven skills to manage complex deals and repeat business culture are mandatory.

Product Expertise: Maintain a deep technical understanding of the product and its roadmap to conduct high-impact demonstrations.

Market Intelligence: Collect and relay customer feedback to Product teams to influence future development and maintain a competitive edge.

Account Expansion: Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer portfolio.

Mentorship: Support and coach team members (BDMs/Account Executives) on the technical and commercial nuances of selling standard products.

GTM improvement: Work with the ExCom to continuously improve and adapt our Product-led go-to-market strategy

Candidate Profile (Skills & Experience)

  • Experience

10+ years in B2B sales (in DeepTech, Aerospace or complex industrial sectors). International exposure is a must. Professional fluency in English language is mandatory, French will be highly appreciated.

  • Soft Skills

High-level negotiation (C-Level), resilience, intellectual curiosity, and leadership.

  • Hard Skills

Proficiency in sales methodologies (e.g. MEDDIC, Miller Heiman, value-based selling), CRM (Zoho), and data analysis.

  • Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Location

This position is based onsite in Strasbourg, France.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Sales Quota: Percentage of annual revenue target achieved (RevRec/TCV).
  2. Win Rate: Annual number of deals won.
  3. Sales Cycle Length: Ability to optimize and shorten the time to close.
  4. Expansion Revenue: New revenue generated from the existing customer base.

Compensation Structure

Base Salary: 60% (depending on seniority, experience and industry).

Variable (Uncapped): 40% based on sales performance targets.

Benefits: Financial support with relocation, private health insurance, meal vouchers, subsidies for commuting costs, yearly training budget of 2,000€…

Why You will Love Working With Us

You will play a key role in an exciting, international scaleup. You will enjoy a highly intercultural environment, benefit from a flexible, family-friendly culture with many social activities and team events, and work with a talented and close-knit team.

At Leanspace, you will be a core player in shaping the future of space missions through cutting-edge technology. You will have opportunities for business travel, space events, and visiting exciting space landmarks.
