Job Description

Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer | 6-Month Contract (Remote - U.S. Based) high likelihood of extension.

The Opportunity: A stealth-mode startup founded by a proven team of technologists is seeking an elite Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer for a high-impact, 6-month contract. While the initial term is 6 months, there is a high probability of extension to 12+ months as the product roadmap evolves.

You will join a founding engineering team of fewer than 10 people to architect and build a next-generation industrial wearable and IoT solution focused on environmental safety.

The Technical Challenge:This is a ground-up development role. You will own the firmware for a cellular-connected wearable designed for safety and environmental monitoring in industrial environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards like OSHA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Firmware Development: Design, develop, and debug firmware for wearable IoT devices using C/C++.
  • Wireless Integration: Implement LTE, Bluetooth (BLE), and Wi-Fi communication protocols.
  • Hardware Interaction: Work extensively with STM32 MCU platforms and FreeRTOS.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with hardware, RF, and cloud teams to define interfaces and test plans.
  • Full Lifecycle: Drive the product from concept and prototyping through to production support.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
  • Mastery of STM32 platforms and STM32CubeIDE.
  • Demonstrated experience with FreeRTOS.
  • Proven background in low-power, wireless product development (Cellular, BLE, and Wi-Fi).
  • Startup Mindset: You are comfortable wearing multiple hats and working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Project Details:

  • Duration: 6 months (initial), with high likelihood of extension.
  • Location: 100% Remote (U.S. based).
  • Industry: Industrial IoT / Wearables / Automation.
