Full Time/Direct Hire - (Onsite)
Location: Somerset, NJ
Salary range: DOE: $130,000 - $165,000 (DOE) + bonus

They're seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts and drive the seamless transition of complex, precisionโengineered systems from design into scalable, highโquality production.

Overview
In this role, youโll ensure manufacturability, mitigate early risks, and develop robust processes that support volume production. Youโll work crossโfunctionally with design, test, and supply chain teams to optimize product readiness, improve manufacturing efficiency, and resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead NPI activities from design through volume production, managing engineering changes, validating processes, and optimizing BOMs and assembly workflows. Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure manufacturability, implement DFA/DFT best practices, and identify design risks early. Improve manufacturing processes and equipment, develop documentation for scalable builds, and support final test operations by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls issues with permanent corrective actions. Analyze and resolve technical problems using structured methods (Fishbone, 8D, SPC) and support new product launches at contract manufacturer sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Masterโs with 6+ years
- Experience with process improvement methodologies
- Proven success transitioning products from design to manufacturing and volume production
- Background in complex equipment/product manufacturing
- Masters degree or MBA is highly preferred

- Strong NPI leadership from concept through fullโscale production
- Experience with VisMockUp, Technomatix, Cameo/CATIA, Creo (plus)
- SolidWorks, Tol Analyst, Design Check, interference analysis
- SAP experience (plus)
- Understanding of system I/O, hardware/software/controls compatibility
- Schematic and wire harness design knowledge
- Vacuum (UHV) and cleanroom experience (highly desirable)
- DFx, DFMEA, PFMEA expertise
- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation
- Semiconductor background (plus)
- Lean Six Sigma certification (plus)
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
