What We’re Building

Pipekit is building the software infrastructure that powers modern data and AI systems. As the primary maintainers of the open-source Argo Workflows project, we advance Kubernetes-native workflow computing - pushing the performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed systems.

We work directly with some of the largest Argo users in the world, supporting mission-critical deployments at organizations like Bloomberg, Intuit, CrowdStrike, and Centrica Energy. The learnings from these relationships drive upstream improvements to the runtime and help us develop our proprietary enterprise control plane.

The Role

We’re looking for a Fractional Infrastructure Engineer to help maintain and support Pipekit’s production infrastructure.

This role is primarily focused on operational reliability and incident response. Day-to-day activity is generally quiet, but when issues arise you’ll jump in to diagnose, mitigate, and resolve them quickly. Our infrastructure is AWS, managed via OpenTofu/Terraform.

1. Be available for incident response when infrastructure issues arise

2. Diagnose and resolve issues across AWS, Kubernetes, and supporting services
3. Help maintain and improve our Infrastructure-as-Code (OpenTofu/Terraform) setup
4. Support our GitOps-based Kubernetes deployments
5. Contribute small improvements to reliability, observability, and operational practices
6. Work closely with the engineering team to ensure production systems remain stable and secure

What We’re Looking For

Must haves

1. Experience managing AWS infrastructure using OpenTofu/Terraform
2. Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes operations
3. Comfortable diagnosing production incidents across infrastructure, networking, and Kubernetes

1. Experience with declarative K8s via ArgoCD or Flux is strongly preferred.

Compensation / Benefits

1. Part-time contractor role (<10 hours/week)
2. Compensation model flexible (retainer, hourly, or hybrid) depending on availability and experience
3. Fully remote
4. Flexible engagement with potential to convert to full-time if there’s mutual interest
