In under a year, the company has reached multi seven-figure ARR with strong month-on-month growth and backing from leading global venture firms. The team combines high-performance engineering backgrounds with experience across quantitative trading, deep tech, and AI research.


The ambition is to modernise complex claims and underwriting workflows using AI-driven systems and scalable backend infrastructure.


The Opportunity

This is a high-ownership backend engineering role focused on building the company’s core systems from the ground up.


You will work on foundational infrastructure, database architecture, and AI-driven components powering mission-critical workflows. The role suits someone who thrives in high-intensity, high-agency environments and wants to shape both technical direction and company culture.


Early engineers deploy from day one and operate with significant autonomy.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and scale core backend systems and architecture.
  • Build and ship production-grade Python services.
  • Own infrastructure, databases (PostgreSQL, vector databases), and system design decisions.
  • Develop and maintain APIs (REST/GraphQL).
  • Work across cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and containerised systems (Docker).
  • Contribute to hiring and scaling the engineering team.
  • Operate with full lifecycle ownership — spec, build, deploy, iterate.


What They’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of backend development experience (Python-focused).
  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience designing scalable architectures and working with relational and vector databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern API design.
  • High agency and comfort operating in early-stage, fast-moving environments.
  • Background in high-performance or technically rigorous environments is a plus.
