The Opportunity
This is a high-ownership backend engineering role focused on building the company’s core systems from the ground up.
You will work on foundational infrastructure, database architecture, and AI-driven components powering mission-critical workflows. The role suits someone who thrives in high-intensity, high-agency environments and wants to shape both technical direction and company culture.
Early engineers deploy from day one and operate with significant autonomy.
What You’ll Do
- Design and scale core backend systems and architecture.
- Build and ship production-grade Python services.
- Own infrastructure, databases (PostgreSQL, vector databases), and system design decisions.
- Develop and maintain APIs (REST/GraphQL).
- Work across cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and containerised systems (Docker).
- Contribute to hiring and scaling the engineering team.
- Operate with full lifecycle ownership — spec, build, deploy, iterate.

- 2+ years of backend development experience (Python-focused).
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving ability.

- Background in high-performance or technically rigorous environments is a plus.
