About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure solutions in a Microsoft Azure environment. This role is responsible for implementing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates, managing networking components, maintaining system compliance, and supporting secure, scalable cloud deployments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Azure networking, infrastructure automation, and operating system lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Deployment & Automation

• Develop and maintain infrastructure deployment templates following established architectural patterns and best practices.
• Deploy infrastructure builds to support new solution implementations.
• Perform post-deployment configuration and required backfill activities.
• Support controlled decommissioning of cloud resources in accordance with program governance procedures.

Cloud Networking & Connectivity

• Create, configure, and manage virtual networks and subnets to support infrastructure deployments.
• Perform backfill and configuration activities related to Azure ExpressRoute connectivity.
• Provide networking support for firewall (PPF) deployments and related security infrastructure.

Backup, Governance & Compliance

• Implement and validate resource backup configurations.
• Apply and maintain enterprise resource tagging standards to ensure governance and cost visibility.
• Support compliance initiatives through patching and security remediation activities.

Systems Administration & Maintenance

• Perform image patching and maintenance to maintain standardized build integrity.
• Execute operating system patching, including security updates and vulnerability remediation.
• Ensure systems remain compliant with organizational security and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience.

• Experience supporting infrastructure deployments in a Microsoft Azure environment.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience managing OS patching, image maintenance, and security updates.
• Understanding of cloud governance, resource tagging, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance after hire.
• Prior experience supporting federal government environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with firewall deployments and secure network architectures.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies in Azure.
• Experience working in structured change management environments.
