Who This Role Is For

This Graduate Accountant role forms part of a specialist STEM Pathway for analytically rigorous graduates who want to apply mathematical and technical thinking inside real-world financial infrastructure.

It is designed for individuals who enjoy modelling systems, solving structured problems and building technical solutions and who want to apply those capabilities within the regulated digital assets ecosystem.

This pathway is not suitable for graduates in accounting, finance, economics or business-led degrees.

Role Mission

From day one, you will work on live crypto audit engagements while contributing to the development and enhancement of internal tooling that enables near real-time reporting and proof-of-reserves analysis. You will operate at the intersection of:

• Digital Assets

• Financial Regulation

This role blends:

• Coding

• Accounting

• Blockchain analysis

You will develop structured accounting expertise in parallel with applied technical skills, progressing through the ICAEW ACA qualification while working in a highly analytical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support audit and assurance engagements across digital asset and crypto clients

• Prepare and review financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS

• Assist on digital asset tax and regulatory advisory assignments

• Analyse on-chain transaction flows and complex crypto business models

• Develop and enhance proprietary software tools (Python, SQL, R or VBA)

• Contribute to real-time reporting and proof-of-reserves processes

• Progress through the ICAEW ACA qualification with structured mentoring

• Stay current with evolving crypto regulation and accounting standards

Academic Background & Fit

This pathway is built for graduates with strong mathematical and computational foundations.

Applicants should be on track for, or have achieved:

• First Class or strong 2:1

• In Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Data Science or Statistics

The firm consistently attracts graduates from research-intensive and analytically rigorous universities, including Russell Group institutions and other universities where mathematical depth, modelling and technical challenge are central to the curriculum.

Applications are welcomed from all institutions where academic rigour and technical content align with the demands of the role.

Programmes primarily focused on accounting, finance, economics or business are not suitable.

Must-Have Experience

• 2:1 or above in a mathematically rigorous STEM discipline

• Coding or scripting experience (Python preferred) or clear motivation to develop it

• Strong numerical reasoning and structured problem-solving ability

• Clear written and verbal communication

• Genuine interest in blockchain, crypto or financial infrastructure

• Commitment to completing the ICAEW ACA qualification

• Long-term interest in professional services within digital assets
