About The Role

GM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on developing advanced AI agents. This role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of scalable, intelligent software agents that drive innovation across our products and services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AI/ML principles, distributed systems, and technical leadership. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI-driven solutions within GM, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results. This position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement, with reporting requirements to Mountain View, CA, or Washington, DC, as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, particularly in large-scale distributed systems or AI/ML infrastructure
• Expert proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or Kotlin
• Extensive experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade AI/ML models or intelligent agents

• Proven track record of technical leadership, including mentoring and leading cross-functional initiatives
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of next-generation AI agents from conception to deployment
• Define and drive the technical strategy for the AI agent platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance
• Mentor and guide junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and best practices
• Collaborate with Product Managers and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions
• Conduct complex code reviews, system design reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members
