Full Stack Web Developer (Technical Architect)

Parasol Group is seeking an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to serve as the sole technical architect of our digital footprint. You will manage a portfolio of 10+ websites across B2B and D2C sectors, transforming our web presence into a high-performance, conversion-optimized ecosystem. This is a critical, full-time position where you will work directly with the VP of Marketing and be fully integrated into our team as a core employee. You will be responsible for uptime, functionality, and the strategic modernization of our web infrastructure as we execute our 2026 growth strategy. This role reports directly to the VP of Marketing and requires someone who can operate independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including creative, content, and ERP departments.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio & Infrastructure Management

- Maintain, audit, and strategically upgrade a diverse ecosystem of 10+ websites, including custom WordPress/PHP builds, Shopify (D2C), and WooCommerce (Wholesale)

- Own the GitOps workflow across all domains, ensuring 99.9% uptime, robust backup protocols, and proactive security patching

- Systematically eliminate technical debt and unify all sites under a cohesive deployment strategy

- Establish domain management protocols for email outreach campaigns and ensure DNS/infrastructure stability

Performance & Conversion Optimization

- Drastically improve Core Web Vitals and page load speeds across all properties to maximize conversion rates

- Proactively research and stay current with leading trends in website readability and AEO (AI-Enhanced Optimization)

- Implement advanced tracking via Google Tag Manager and custom conversion events to map customer journeys

- Ensure site structures are perfectly optimized for search engines and user experience

Custom Development & Design Implementation

- Build and deploy custom landing pages designed for high-conversion marketing campaigns

- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to business requirements (not relying solely on page builders)

- Collaborate with designers and content creators to ensure technical feasibility and best practices

- Support full redesigns of core websites, managing the technical execution from conception to launch

Systems Integration & Data Synchronization

- Architect and maintain custom API connections between websites, Inventory Management Systems (NetSuite), CRMs, and operational tools

- Build and manage webhooks and middleware to ensure seamless data flow across the organization

- Create site-based automations to streamline lead capture, order support, and customer service workflows

- Reduce manual overhead through intelligent workflow automation

E-Commerce Architecture

- Set up, configure, and manage complex WooCommerce environments for wholesale operations, including bulk pricing and custom workflows

- Design and maintain headless Shopify front-ends for high-speed D2C (direct-to-consumer) experiences

- Integrate e-commerce platforms with inventory and fulfillment systems to ensure real-time data accuracy

Technical SEO & Analytics

- Implement and maintain advanced Google Tag Manager setups with custom conversion tracking

- Optimize technical SEO elements across all properties (site structure, schema markup, crawlability)

- Generate insights from analytics data to inform development priorities and identify conversion opportunities

Team Collaboration & Support

- Participate regularly in team meetings and remain available for urgent technical issues

- Suggest best practices and provide guidance to the marketing team on technical constraints and opportunities

- Partner with content creators to ensure site architecture supports content strategy

- Mentor future junior developers as the team scales (in subsequent phases)

Requirements:

Technical Expertise

- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience with custom WordPress development (not just page builders)—understanding of WordPress core, database structure, hooks, and theme/plugin architecture

- Strong proficiency in PHP and JavaScript for custom coding and debugging

- Expert-level experience with Git-based version control and deployment workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or similar)

- Proven experience with Shopify and WooCommerce, specifically wholesale configurations, bulk pricing, and custom integrations

Integration & API Development

- Strong hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms

- Demonstrated ability to integrate third-party tools and services (CRMs, ERP systems, payment processors)

- Understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys, OAuth 2.0)

E-Commerce & Performance

- Hands-on experience optimizing e-commerce platforms for speed and conversion

- Familiarity with Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed Insights, and performance measurement tools

- Understanding of e-commerce best practices (checkout optimization, abandoned cart recovery, etc.)

Data & Analytics

- Deep understanding of Google Tag Manager setup and custom event tracking

- Ability to work with CRM integrations and customer data platforms

- Comfort translating analytics data into technical improvements

AI-Augmented Development

- Proficiency in using modern AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation

- Ability to maintain code quality and security standards while leveraging AI assistance
