About the opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager for North America to help drive our business growth and open source community engagement locally. This is a key, "hands-on" role where you will act as a bridge between our observability solutions and the engineering community at large. You won't just be running campaigns, you will be creating  an environment where engineers, developers and enterprises can thrive using VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaLogs, and VictoriaTraces - our observability stack - both in open source and enterprise. You’ll be building a local marketing team to help us achieve our objectives in the region.

Your Key Responsibilities

Regional Strategy & Execution

  • Strategic Planning: Develop a marketing plan for North America that aligns with our marketing and company objectives.
  • Team: Hire and manage / lead a team of colleagues who will focus on regional activities.
  • Integrated Campaigns: Lead the execution of (technical) marketing campaigns designed to drive open source adoption and  - from there - help us hit our revenue targets.
  • Tactical Ownership: Maintain a "startup mindset" by balancing long-term strategic direction with hands-on tactical execution.
  • Sales Alignment: Ensure marketing efforts are in sync with regional sales goals.

Demand Generation & Performance

  • Full-Funnel Management: Oversee all demand generation channels as it relates to regional north-american activities - in line with the overall marketing and company plan.
  • Lead Progression: Partner directly with Sales to optimize lead handoff and follow up.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze funnel metrics for continuous improvement and optimisation.

Partner & Event Marketing

  • Ecosystem Growth: Build reliable, long-term initiatives with key regional partners to expand our footprint in the wider open source observability ecosystem.
  • Technical Events: Plan and execute events, webinars, and conferences that provide genuine value to the SRE and wider observability community in conjunction with colleagues on the marketing team.
  • ROI Ownership: Manage event budgets with efficiency, ensuring every event generates visibility and quality leads.

Collaboration & Travel

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Act as the primary marketing bridge between North America sales and our engineering/product teams - in conjunction with the wider marketing team.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a culture of helpfulness and transparency within the open-source community.
  • Regional Presence: Travel to conferences, customers etc. as needed and as makes sense.

Required Qualification

  • Professional Background: 5+ years in B2B marketing with solid experience in open source, ideally in monitoring and observability - related experience in adjacent open source technologies is valuable as well.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to "speak the language" of SREs and DevOps. Familiarity with the open source monitoring and observability ecosystem (Prometheus, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, etc.) is a significant advantage.
  • Engineering Empathy: Proven ability to translate complex technical features into clear, high-value messaging that speaks to  engineers.
  • Strategic Ownership: Experience building regional marketing plans from scratch while remaining "hands-on" with tactical execution in a lean team.
  • Data-Driven Execution: A track record of using data to optimize activities and ROI.
  • Scaleup DNA: You’re happy to adopt ways of doing marketing and cooperate with colleagues that may be different to what you’re used to.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for creating technical content, case studies, and community engagement in general.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience balancing Open Source community growth with Enterprise sales goals.
  • Previous experience in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot would be ideal - or equivalent systems.

Together we will

  • Grow our online presence, visibility & user experience and from there, open source & enterprise growth.
  • Work with our Founders, engineers, the sales team and others on meeting our existing and new users where they are with information that’s relevant to them.

Moreover, we will

  • Support your professional and personal growth: You will be working directly with our company founders, our sales team, engineering  teams, and of course, the marketing team.
  • Support and encourage your individual initiatives.

What we offer

  • Good salary and bonuses, remote work model, and flexible working hours.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • The chance to make a real impact on our technology and user community.
