JOB DESCRIPTION
- About the Role We are looking for a nearshore Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in the Azure cloud and modern data platform delivery. Deep Microsoft Fabric expertise is a major plus, but candidates with recent hands-on experience building Fabric-like solutions on Azure (Synapse, ADF, Databricks) combined with Power BI are also welcome. You should be comfortable owning end-to-end pipelines and data products in production, applying CI/CD, monitoring, data quality, and secure access patterns, while working independently and communicating crisply in a distributed team.

CORE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (SENIOR LEVEL)
- Azure data platform engineering (end-to-end)
- CI/CD for data (Git, PR discipline, environment promotion, release hygiene)
- Clear written communication and stakeholder updates
- Data modelling for analytics (dimensional modelling, star schema, curated layers)
- Fabric-like Azure stack hands-on (Microsoft Fabric or comparable setup: Synapse + ADF + Databricks + ADLS, with Power BI)
- Modern orchestration and ingestion (ADF/Synapse Pipelines or Fabric Pipelines, incremental loads, parameterization, error handling)
- Ownership and autonomous delivery in distributed teams
- Pragmatic engineering judgement
- Problem solving and root-cause analysis (production incidents, performance issues)
- Security fundamentals (RBAC, least privilege, managed identities/Entra ID, RLS basics)
- Spark engineering (PySpark notebooks, optimization, Parquet/Delta)
- SQL (complex queries, performance tuning, warehouse patterns)
