In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in Java to develop and maintain scalable and high-performance applications. Your Java programming skills will be instrumental in developing efficient and reliable pipelines, contributing to the overall architecture of the infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java applications
- Build and optimise efficient and reliable data and processing pipelines
- Contribute to system and platform architecture decisions
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and QA
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of backend services
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Support and enhance live production systems
Qualifications
- Strong commercial experience with Java (Java 8+)
- Experience building scalable backend systems and services
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimisation
- Experience developing RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience working in Linux-based environments
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
