Role Overview

An Abu Dhabi Government entity is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Architect to lead the design, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise security architecture across systems, infrastructure, and digital platforms. The role ensures security-by-design across all technology initiatives, in alignment with government cybersecurity strategies, regulatory mandates, and international standards.

This position plays a critical role in advising technical teams and senior stakeholders, ensuring that information security is embedded across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and data environments.

Key Responsibilities


Security Architecture & Governance

  • Design, maintain, and enforce enterprise security reference architectures and frameworks covering infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, applications, and data.
  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise and Solution Architects to review solution designs and provide authoritative security guidance.
  • Define and maintain network and infrastructure security architectures, integrating advanced security technologies and controls.
  • Develop reusable security design patterns, control frameworks, and blueprints to support secure application development and system integration.

Security Operations & Risk Management

  • Provide oversight and strategic guidance on enterprise security tools, including SIEM, DLP, IAM, firewalls, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and architectural gaps, proposing remediation initiatives and improvement programs.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and audits aligned with frameworks such as NIST and ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Prepare and present security posture updates, risk assessments, and improvement recommendations to senior leadership.

Strategy, Awareness & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the evolution of organizational cybersecurity strategies, policies, standards, and procedures in response to emerging threats and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to organization-wide security awareness and training initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance security maturity, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational values, ethics, and occupational health and safety policies.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF (security-focused), or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in information security, security architecture, or a closely related discipline.

Required Skills

  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise security architecture, including network, infrastructure, application, cloud, and data security.
  • Practical experience with enterprise security technologies (SIEM, DLP, IAM, firewalls, vulnerability management).
  • Strong knowledge of security standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, COBIT).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong prioritization, multitasking, and independent working capabilities.
