Job Description
SASE / SD-WAN Network Engineer
Location: Remote (US-based)
Travel: Up to 10% (as needed for key cutovers or workshops)
About the Role
We are looking for a SASE / SD-WAN Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate a modern secure edge network supporting distributed users, branch locations, and cloud workloads. This role sits at the intersection of networking, cloud, and security and is ideal for engineers who want to work on modern architectures, not legacy infrastructure.
You will play a key role in evolving our WAN from traditional hub-and-spoke models to a cloud-first, Zero Trust-aligned SASE architecture.
What You’ll Do
- Design, deploy, and support SD-WAN and SASE solutions across global branch and remote environments
- Implement secure access policies using ZTNA, FWaaS, SWG, and CASB capabilities
- Integrate SD-WAN with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Lead or participate in MPLS → internet / hybrid WAN migrations
- Troubleshoot complex overlay / underlay performance and routing issues
- Partner with Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams on secure network design
- Contribute to standardization, documentation, and operational best practices
- Support automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives where applicable
Technologies You’ll Work With
(Experience with some—not all—is expected)
- SASE / SD-WAN Platforms:
- Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN / SASE, Fortinet, Cisco, Zscaler, Cato
- Networking:
- BGP, IPSec, QoS, traffic engineering, WAN routing
- Security Concepts:
- Zero Trust, network segmentation, secure access controls
- Cloud Networking:
- AWS VPC, Azure VNets, cloud connectivity patterns
- Automation (Nice to Have):
- Python, Ansible, Terraform, APIs
- Monitoring & Ops:
- Network performance analytics, logging, and alerting tools
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
- Strong background in WAN and SD-WAN technologies
- Experience working with or implementing SASE or cloud-delivered security
- Solid understanding of routing, encryption, and performance optimization
- Ability to operate independently in a remote, distributed team
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Vendor experience with Palo Alto Prisma SASE / SD-WAN
- Cloud networking certifications (AWS, Azure)
- Network automation experience
- Exposure to large-scale or multi-region environments
Why This Role
- Remote-first environment with a distributed team
- Work on modern, cloud-native network architecture
- High impact role with ownership and visibility
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Strong opportunity for growth into architecture or technical leadership
