About The Role

As a QA Engineer at Bitwarden, you will play a vital role in shaping the quality and reliability of our products across mobile, web, and server platforms. This position involves working closely with a talented team and engaging with the vibrant open-source community to ensure the highest standards of software quality. Your primary responsibilities will include recreating issues reported by users, manually testing bug fixes, new features, and enhancements, and contributing to the development and maintenance of automated regression tests. You will facilitate a comprehensive quality approach throughout the software development lifecycle, supporting both community-driven and internal product contributions. This is an all-remote role, ideally suited for candidates located within the United States, as we do not currently offer visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Experience in testing SaaS consumer and/or enterprise products
  • Familiarity with lean or agile development methodologies
  • Strong collaborative and adaptable mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for cybersecurity, password management, and helping users solve security challenges
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to find and communicate solutions effectively
  • Desire to grow into a Software Engineer in Test role
  • Experience with manual and automated testing tools and frameworks
  • Knowledge of source control systems such as Git, SVN, or TFS
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Jenkins or AppVeyor
  • Basic programming skills in Java, C#, or Python (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and test bug fixes submitted by the user community to ensure quality and stability
  • Perform manual testing of new features and fixes during various stages of development, documenting results thoroughly
  • Participate in code reviews, sharing technical knowledge and best practices with team members
  • Engage actively in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and delivery activities to support continuous improvement
  • Maintain and enhance automated test suites within industry-standard frameworks for mobile, desktop, web applications, and RESTful APIs
  • Assist in recreating complex issues to facilitate debugging and resolution
  • Contribute to the development of testing strategies that promote a total quality approach to software delivery
  • Collaborate with developers, support engineers, and customer success teams to ensure comprehensive testing coverage
