Company Description
We’re representing a financial technology company building a global consumer finance platform for emerging markets — in partnership with major distribution partners. The team is reimagining cross-border money movement by combining stablecoin infrastructure with a joint virtual banking and cryptocurrency wallet, enabling users around the world to move seamlessly across financial systems.
The company is small, senior, and fast-moving, led by proven founders with prior successful exits. With deep funding and immediate global distribution, this is a chance to work on technology that will directly impact millions of users in underserved regions.
What You Will Do
As a Staff Android Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of the Android platform — leading architecture, performance, and security for a new mobile product from the ground up. You’ll design and implement the foundation of a financial app built to serve millions of users globally, while collaborating closely with product, backend, and design teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect and build a high-performance, secure, native Android app in Kotlin or Java.
- Establish best practices and development standards for the Android codebase.
- Collaborate with cross-platform teams developing iOS and web counterparts.
- Own core aspects of UX performance, network reliability, and mobile security.
- Shape product and technical direction from Day 1 as a founding member of the engineering team.
- Potentially grow into a mobile lead across platforms as the team expands.
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping consumer-facing Android apps at scale.
- Strong fluency in Kotlin and/or Java with a deep understanding of modern Android development practices.
- Proven ability to architect Android applications from scratch, including API design and app structure.
- Experience with mobile performance optimization, offline data handling, and secure app design.
- Comfortable in high-ownership, zero-to-one environments where decisions shape product direction.
Preferred
- Experience building products for Latin American or emerging markets.
- Prior work in fintech, banking, or payments.
- Eye for mobile design and user experience.
- Broader full-stack experience and ability to flex across the stack.
- Why JoinImpact: Build the Android platform for a product that will serve millions globally from day one.
- Mission: Help redefine cross-border financial infrastructure and digital inclusion through stablecoin technology.
- Ownership: Full autonomy over the Android stack and long-term mobile architecture.
- Velocity: Work directly with experienced founders and a senior, high-caliber team in San Francisco.
- Compensation: No equity gamble — top-of-market salary for world-class engineers.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $200K – $360K
- Structure: High-cash comp, no equity requirement
- Work Setup: On-site in San Francisco (collaborative office culture)
Perks:
- Visa sponsorship available
- Relocation support for top candidates
- Opportunity to shape the core technical vision of a global product
This role is ideal for engineers who want to build high-performance mobile systems from scratch, define architecture for a global financial product, and make an immediate impact in the stablecoin ecosystem.
