About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fullstack Engineer specializing in child safety tools and systems to join our Intelligence & Investigations Engineering team remotely, based in the US. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining data-intensive, AI-powered applications and infrastructure that empower investigators and operators to detect, analyze, and disrupt abuse effectively. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Policy, Platform Integrity, Safety Systems, and Research, to build systems that facilitate high-severity safety work while ensuring user privacy and data security. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing innovative solutions that protect vulnerable populations and uphold our commitment to safety and ethical AI deployment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in software engineering, with experience owning systems end-to-end
  • Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
  • Experience with large-scale data pipelines and search/retrieval systems
  • Familiarity with tools such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, data warehouses, and SQL
  • Ability to design user-centric products with a focus on workflows and rapid iteration
  • Experience working on high-severity harm mitigation or safety-critical systems
  • Comfort navigating ambiguous and evolving problem spaces
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-team interaction
  • Prior experience with investigative or operational workflows is a plus
  • Knowledge of child safety challenges, including secure handling of quarantined content and reporting to NCMEC, is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Prototype, develop, and maintain intelligence systems that detect and triage potential high-severity harms
  • Build scalable and reliable infrastructure supporting data ingestion, processing, and analysis
  • Create intuitive user interfaces and tooling to facilitate efficient review and investigation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement safety-focused features and systems
  • Contribute to the technical strategy for child safety tools and systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Analyze and report on system impact using data-driven metrics to inform continuous improvements
  • Rapidly iterate on solutions based on user feedback and operational needs
  • Ensure security and privacy best practices in handling sensitive content and data
