Python Backend Engineer

This is a permanent role at our client, a leading Japanese tech company.

Overview:

This is a backend engineer role using Python at a forward-thinking Japanese company which provides products and services in HR Tech, Marketing Tech, and digital transformation. In this role, you will contribute to projects leveraging state-of-the-art natural language processing and ML solutions.

This is a fully remote role working in an international and diverse team. The company is 10+ years old and has 200+ employees, so it is expanding upon a strong track record of success.

Responsibilities will include:

• Build, manage, and support web-based projects linked to Open AI and Azure Open AI.
• Utilize contemporary methodologies and technologies for development.
• Architect components with a focus on ease of maintenance.
• Implement new functionalities based on the planned roadmap in coordination with key partners.
• Produce a range of design documentation.
• Organize data transition and code refactoring for upcoming releases.

Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in developing, managing, and maintaining web applications using Python
• 3+ years of experience working in a team setting
• 3+ years of experience with developing or managing web applications on public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• A minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing CI pipelines
• Proficiency in multiple backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, NodeJS)
• Familiarity with various frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask)
• Understanding of different databases (e.g., Redis, MySQL)
• Business-level English. (Japanese language skills are not required)
