Role Overview
The Solution Architect (Data-Focused) will play a key role in shaping the technical landscape of the Corporate Applications group, with an initial emphasis on Finance systems. This role combines solution and data architecture responsibilities, ensuring that system designs are integrated, scalable, and aligned with enterprise and business goals.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in financial systems integration (SAP, Workday), understands data fabric and data pipelines, and can balance hands-on solution design with strong business collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement integration architectures across Finance and Corporate Applications.
- Partner with Finance system owners and product teams to align solutions with business and data needs.
- Develop solution blueprints, architecture documentation, and functional/technical requirements.
- Guide data pipeline and data fabric design to support financial reporting, BI, and analytics.
- Evaluate and recommend build vs. buy options for new or existing systems (e.g., reinsurance, Capstone).
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture (EA) team to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Support modernization and re-architecture of legacy or homegrown applications.
- Contribute to business architecture discussions and bridge technical and functional perspectives.
Technical Requirements
- SAP experience (particularly General Ledger migration and financial data structures).
- Workday integration experience (especially Finance and HR modules).
- Strong background in data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data aggregation.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud and related data services.
- Understanding of integration patterns, API-based connectivity, and data fabric principles.
- Ability to produce clear architectural documentation and conceptual diagrams.
Preferred Domain Knowledge
- Experience within Finance, Accounting, or Insurance domains.
- Understanding of financial terminology and data flow across financial systems.
- Prior involvement in corporate applications or enterprise system modernization projects.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Finance Applications Lead and the Corporate Applications team.
- Coordinate across Finance, Enterprise Architecture, and Asset Management groups.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable designs.
