About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about automating deployment processes, scaling infrastructure, and optimizing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environments. As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Veeva, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions primarily leveraging AWS services. Your expertise will help streamline development workflows, reduce manual efforts, and ensure high availability and observability of our systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to build tools, frameworks, and automation processes that enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Additionally, you will participate in on-call rotations to support critical infrastructure and ensure system stability. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud technologies and contribute to impactful solutions in the life sciences industry.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles, focusing on tooling, automation, and distributed systems development
- 8+ years of overall software industry experience
- Extensive experience designing, architecting, and implementing deployments in AWS cloud environments
- Strong understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting skills within AWS infrastructure
- Proficiency with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or Codefresh
- Hands-on experience with configuration management platforms like Ansible, Chef, or Salt
- Experience using Terraform and Kubernetes at scale
- Solid scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or similar
- Experience with monitoring and observability frameworks for infrastructure and application health monitoring
- Excellent documentation, communication, presentation, and demo skills
- Proven ability to mentor team members and improve team performance
- Candidate must be located in MST or PST timezone and have unrestricted right to work in the United States; Veeva does not sponsor work visas at this time
- Implement DevOps best practices including infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment pipelines leveraging AWS services
- Design, develop, and maintain tools, frameworks, and processes for building, integrating, deploying, and managing software systems
- Create and manage scalable cloud architectures using Terraform, Kubernetes, and related technologies
- Automate tasks throughout the full CI/CD lifecycle to enhance developer experience and reduce manual efforts
- Scale proof-of-concept solutions to full production environments ensuring stability and performance
- Promote and implement observability practices such as monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting to ensure system reliability
- Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues promptly
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize deployment processes and infrastructure reliability
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and best practices
