About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff UX Product Designer with a focus on artificial intelligence to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of browsing by designing innovative, AI-powered features for Firefox. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, engineers, researchers, and content designers—you will create elegant, scalable, and user-centric experiences rooted in Mozilla’s core values of privacy, simplicity, and performance. Your work will influence how millions of users interact with the web, blending trusted UI patterns with bold AI innovations. You will lead the design of new features from conception through implementation, ensuring seamless integration of AI capabilities while maintaining privacy and accessibility standards. Additionally, you will help evolve Firefox’s design systems to deliver a consistent and cohesive user experience across platforms. Qualifications
- 7+ years of product design experience, preferably with complex workflows or multi-step processes
- Proven experience designing AI experiences for consumer products with large user bases
- Strong understanding of ethical AI practices and privacy-first design principles
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools and enthusiasm for shaping AI integration in daily user interactions
- Knowledge of design systems and proficiency with tools such as Figma, Jira, and modern prototyping software
- A compelling, user-centric portfolio demonstrating polished UI craft and innovative interaction paradigms
- Curiosity and hands-on experience experimenting with AI technologies, prototypes, or experiments
- Deep understanding of visual and interaction design principles including layout, typography, motion, accessibility, and brand expression
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Collaborative, adaptable, and low-ego attitude, thriving in fast-paced, distributed team environments
- Ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive, clear user experiences
- Lead the design of AI-powered features for Firefox on desktop, taking ideas from initial sketches to live deployment
- Integrate familiar UI patterns with innovative AI features to enhance browsing speed, ease of use, and engagement
- Identify user problems and propose solutions that align with product strategy, user insights, and technical constraints
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content designers to make informed design decisions
- Design interactions that prioritize privacy, accessibility, and user trust at every touchpoint
- Contribute to the growth and refinement of Firefox’s design systems to ensure consistency and cohesiveness across the desktop experience
- Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies to inform future product features and experiences
