Director of Product Management

Our client is a leading technology company transforming Defense Acquisition through data, automation, and artificial intelligence. Their flagship platform provides AI-enabled applications and world-class data to empower defense and national security organizations with faster, more informed decision-making capabilities.

As the company continues to expand its AI-driven capabilities, they are seeking a customer-obsessed AI/ML Product Manager to lead the development and integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning features within their flagship platform. This individual contributor role will own the AI/ML roadmap, driving strategy, execution, and delivery of intelligent solutions that enhance decision-making across the defense ecosystem

• Define and communicate the AI/ML product strategy and roadmap aligned with company goals, customer needs, and market trends.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities where AI/ML can automate manual processes, enhance decision-making, and deliver predictive insights.
• Conduct user research to understand customer pain points and validate use cases where AI/ML capabilities create measurable value.
• Develop detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), user stories, and success metrics for AI/ML features.
• Collaborate closely with data science, AI/ML engineering, and product design teams to translate technical capabilities into intuitive, user-friendly solutions.
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to articulate the value proposition of AI/ML features to customers and support go-to-market efforts.
• Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform positioning, differentiation, and roadmap prioritization.
• Balance tradeoffs between innovation speed, technical feasibility, cost, and risk while ensuring seamless integration of AI/ML capabilities into existing workflows.
• Monitor post-launch performance and ensure continuous improvement through data-driven insights and user feedback.
• Champion AI leadership within the Defense sector by identifying emerging trends and strategic opportunities.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML or data-driven products.
• Proven success launching AI/ML-enabled products or features in production environments.
• Strong understanding of the machine learning development lifecycle, including data preparation, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Excellent ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business value and clear product requirements.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, data science, design, and customer engagement teams.
• Strategic thinker with a customer-first mindset and strong value orientation.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organi
• zation.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active U.S. Security Clearance, or ability to obtain one with sponsorship.
• Experience in or exposure to the Department of Defense (DoD) or related national security environments.
• Experience working in startup or entrepreneurial settings.
• Familiarity with Value Proposition Canvas or Business Model Canvas frameworks.
• Advanced degree in a business or technical discipline.
