About the Role

A leading AI research initiative is recruiting Biology PhDs to contribute to a frontier project focused on advancing large language models (LLMs) through real-world scientific reasoning.

In this role, you will design and evaluate complex, domain-specific biology problems that mirror real-world research and teaching challenges. Your expertise will directly influence how next-generation AI systems understand and reason about biological concepts, experimentation, and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, solve, and review challenging problems across molecular biology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, and ecology.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, depth, and scientific rigor.
• Collaborate asynchronously with researchers to refine evaluation standards and ensure content quality.
• Translate your domain knowledge into structured, reproducible problem-solving workflows.

Ideal Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Biology (or closely related field) from a top U.S., U.K., Canadian, Australian, or New Zealand university.
• Deep understanding of biological principles, data analysis, and experimental design.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and precision in evaluating complex outputs.
• Enthusiasm for bridging academic research with AI-driven innovation.

Project Timeline

• Start Date: Late September (applications reviewed on a rolling basis)
• Duration: Ongoing, with opportunities for extension
• Commitment: 10–20 hours/week (option to scale up based on performance)
• Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — flexible work structure

Compensation & Contract

• Hourly Rate: $65–$75 USD/hour
• Contract Type: Independent contractor
• Payments: Weekly via Stripe Connect
• Onboarding Pay: Compensation for up to 1 hour of onboarding, including training and setup
