.NET Developer - Energy Trading - Contract role
Contract: 6 months rolling (Outside IR35)
Location: Remote
We are seeking an experienced .NET Developer to join an energy trading client. The team is currently building a new system to manage Day Ahead trading positions and provide access to Day Ahead wholesale power auctions.
This role will involve working on a modern technology stack, with a .NET back end and React front end, hosted on AWS. You will be instrumental in developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions that directly support critical trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting Day Ahead trading and wholesale market auctions.
- Work across the full stack (.NET back end, React front end) in an AWS-hosted environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, analysts, and other developers.
- Deliver clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making.
- Support and enhance existing systems where required.
Requirements
- Must have experience working in commodities trading
- Strong commercial experience with .NET (C#) back-end development.
- Proven expertise with React for front-end development.
- Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services.
- Background in delivering enterprise-level or trading-related systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
