Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Storage and Backup Engineer to join our fully remote global team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining storage and backup infrastructures across various platforms, with a strong understanding of enterprise backup solutions, storage protocols, and cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) and Linux/Unix servers (CentOS 6/7, Ubuntu).
- Setup and manage roles including Domain Controller, Web Server, File Server, Print Server, FTP Server, LDAP/RADIUS.
- Design, deploy, and manage Software Defined Storage solutions (e.g., FreeNAS, Openfiler, SoftNAS).
- Hands-on with storage technologies: iSCSI, FC, NAS, CIFS, NFS, RAID, Snapshots, Replication (Sync/Async), Clustering, High Availability, Erasure Coding, Global Namespace.
- Manage cloud storage services and infrastructure in AWS and Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, Object Storage, VPNs).
- Automate routine system tasks using BASH, Perl, or Python scripting.
- Manage virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen, Acropolis AHV.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking: Load Balancing, SR-IOV, NIC Teaming/Bonding, LACP, Cisco switches/routers/firewalls.
- Implement and support Distributed File Systems such as GlusterFS, CEPH, DFS, DFSR.
- Administer and monitor Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions using Veeam, Acronis, Zerto.
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in enterprise storage and backup engineering roles.
- Proficient in English (spoken and written).
- Available to work full-time during Pacific Standard Time (8 AM – 4 PM PST).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Preferred to have Certifications such as VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer) or VMCA (Veeam Certified Architect)
