About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with 5+ years of experience to join our team on a 6-month full-time contract. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analysing large datasets, developing machine learning models, and providing actionable insights to drive business decision-making. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, improve business processes, and contribute to the strategic direction of our data-driven initiatives.
This is a remote position, offering flexibility while working with a dynamic team of data professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends that can inform business strategy.
- Clean, preprocess, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure high-quality and reliable datasets for modeling and analysis.
- Conduct statistical analysis and predictive modeling using Python, R, or other tools to drive business decision-making.
- Work closely with data engineers to ensure the smooth flow of data and integration with other systems.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and engineers to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Document methodologies, results, and processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in machine learning, AI, and data science, and apply relevant techniques to business challenges.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong track record in building and deploying machine learning models.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis and model development.
- Experience with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Keras, or PyTorch.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design.
- Experience working with SQL and data wrangling tools for handling large datasets (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn) for communicating insights.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for deploying models and scaling solutions.
- Solid understanding of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and how they integrate with machine learning workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to address business challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in an agile development environment is a plus.
