Senior Systems Engineer Stoke on Trent area, Staffordshire, UK £50-65k + benefits
This is a new opening for a senior / lead systems engineer to lead a small team of software and systems engineers on the design and development of new technologies and systems for off-highway vehicles.
The ability to mentor, technically lead people and projects would be required. Also an understanding of electronics, electrical systems and / or model-based software (embedded C, Matlab / Simulink) would be great.
Required:
The role will involve working within a team of experienced engineers on the development of new and future technology developments. This could include engine / gearbox control, HMI / steering / controls, HVAC, object detection / Radar / ADAS features, etc.
NOTE: the company is migrating to model based software development, hence an understanding or experience of model based software (Matlab / Simulink) would be preferred.

This senior systems development role is based onsite and is commutable from Rocester, Stoke on Trent, Northwich, Crewe, Macclesfield. Derby, Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Stafford, and Burton

- 7+ years of post-academic full lifecycle experience of developing systems or software for control / mechatronic systems.
- Experience working in the automotive, marine, rail, avionics or similar safety critical domain would be desirable.
- Ability to technically lead / mentor junior engineers.
- The ability to capture and develop requirements into technical product specifications would be needed.
- An understanding of model based software would be preferred.
- Electronics / electrical systems engineering would be great.
- Experience of safety critical systems would be great also.
