MS SQL Database Engineer (relocation to Belgium)
Job Description
We are looking for an MS SQL Database Engineer who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in Brussels, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and promote all required technical components to create a stable and secure MS SQL database environment.
- Monitor market trends and advancements in MS SQL databases in collaboration with the System Architect and Product Owner.
- Follow up on security recommendations (proactively and reactively) to minimize operational risks.
- Assist teams with operational challenges, such as performance investigations and database stability issues.
- Develop, modify, and write scripts using T-SQL, PowerShell, Perl, or Python.
- Collaborate with offshore partners to ensure high-quality first-level operational support.
- Strictly adhere to security policies, including authorization protocols, within a bank environment.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and execute planned interventions outside business hours when required.
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in MS SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
- Good understanding of Windows Server 2019 and 2022 environments.
- Knowledge of VMWare and SQL Server Always-On High Availability setup and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with SQL performance troubleshooting and Backup functionalities.
