About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Systems Administrator to support their growing infrastructure in Ulm, Germany. This is a hybrid role (primarily on-site), ideal for professionals passionate about maintaining reliable systems, improving performance, and contributing to strategic IT projects. You'll join a collaborative, international team and play a key role in ensuring smooth IT operations.
Your Key Responsibilities
π§ System Maintenance & Optimization
- Perform system updates, security patches, and backups
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot proactively
- Implement disaster recovery procedures
π₯οΈ Server Management
- Maintain physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Troubleshoot and resolve server issues
π₯ User Support & Training
- Provide hands-on technical support to end-users
- Train employees on system usage and IT best practices
π Security & Compliance
- Manage access controls, firewalls, and monitor security incidents
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards
π Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations and procedures
- Generate system performance and incident reports
π€ Project Collaboration
- Support upgrades, migrations, and new tech integrations
- Contribute to technology evaluations and improvements
Your Background & Skills
β Required Experience
- 2+ years in a similar Systems Administrator role
- Strong knowledge of Windows (clients & servers), Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and system monitoring tools (e.g., Icinga2)
- Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure: servers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, and printers
- Fluent in German and English (C1)
- Valid work authorization for Germany
π Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Certifications such as MCSA or similar are a plus
- Familiarity with WSUS, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity tools

Team Structure
- Youβll join a team of 5 IT professionals across Germany, Poland, and Sweden
- Reports to: Richard Unger (Team Lead, Germany)
- 4 new hires planned in this team expansion phase
