Overview:

My client is a leading technology company driving digital innovation in Japan, specializing in creating scalable and secure solutions that allow Japanese businesses to modernise their IT systems.

They operate multiple in-house services (primarily on AWS) and are tackling challenges such as infrastructure automation, performance optimisation, and transitioning monolithic systems to microservices. They are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to help standardise, automate, and scale their infrastructure in a time of rapid business growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Architect and implement reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions, using tools like Terraform for configuration and deployment
• Drive process improvements by automating workflows for deployment and operations
• Diagnose and resolve incidents efficiently, ensuring high availability and stability
• Monitor and improve system security
• Assess and enhance infrastructure performance, implementing changes to optimise operations
• Develop clear and comprehensive documentation to aid team collaboration and knowledge transfer
• Stay ahead of industry trends by evaluating and adopting new tools and methodologies

Essential Skills & Experience:

• At least five years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering
• Advanced knowledge of Terraform and programming skills in common scripting or development languages
• Proven experience implementing DevOps practices in production environments

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with large-scale infrastructure environments
• Fullstack engineering experience

Languages:

• Conversational Japanese (N3) and English language skills are both required for this position
• (There is no flexibility on these language requirements)
