Our client is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their growing, VC-backed startup that is revolutionising customer intelligence. Their platform leverages AI to monitor, analyse, and act on online conversations, empowering businesses with data-driven decision-making. Use cases include lead generation, reputation management, and strategic growth.

The Role

Join a remote-first, collaborative team and work closely with the co-founders to shape the product roadmap. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Full-cycle development of backend services – from architecture and design to deployment.
• Designing and optimising data models, pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Scaling web crawling and data scraping operations.
• Maintaining high-performance APIs and backend systems.

Tech Stack

You’ll work with a modern stack, including:

• TypeScript, Node.js – Core backend development
• AWS, Railway – Cloud infrastructure and deployment
• PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM – Database management
• Redis – Caching and high-speed data processing

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• 6+ years of hands-on TypeScript experience, with proven success in production environments.
• Expertise in data modelling, building ETL pipelines, and working with large datasets.
• Extensive experience in web crawling and data scraping at scale.
• Strong leadership qualities, a proactive mindset, and an ownership mentality.
• Ability to thrive in asynchronous, remote-first environments.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with LLMs (Large Language Models) or ML (Machine Learning) in production.
• Previous experience in a startup environment.
