Job Description

Location: 100% Remote (anywhere in Canada)

Duration: Full-time (40 hours/week) until July 26, with potential extensions


We are seeking a Network Engineer & Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in Enterprise Networking, including Enterprise Routing and Wireless, to support the design and review of Cisco technical training content.


This role involves technical content review, lab design, and collaboration with our clients Learning & Certifications team. While you will not be authoring content, you will play a key role in shaping and validating it.


Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Content Review & Approval: Ensure Cisco training materials for certifications, products, and solutions meet high-quality standards.
  • Training Design: Design and structure Cisco certification and product training, ensuring technical accuracy.
  • Lab Development & Troubleshooting:
  • Create and review network topologies to support technical training.
  • Develop hands-on technical labs, including VMware-based lab environments.
  • Troubleshoot lab malfunctions and customer-reported issues.
  • Collaboration & Training:
  • Work closely with instructional designers, content developers, editors, and digital media teams.
  • Participate in training sessions and shadowing experienced SMEs.
  • Multimedia & Documentation:
  • Utilize Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other development tools.
  • Video content creation skills for technical instruction are a plus.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE Enterprise (preferred).
  • Preferred: Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI).
  • Enterprise Networking Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Meraki, SD-WAN, SDA, ThousandEyes, Full Stack Observability, and Catalyst Center.
  • Experience with routing, switching, and wireless networking.
  • Lab Development & Automation:
  • Experience with VMware for lab environments.
  • Basic automation scripting skills are a plus.
  • Preferred Background:
  • Prior experience with Cisco training content development (Cisco Press, course development, or instructor roles).
  • Passion for technical education and knowledge-sharing rather than direct customer problem-solving or network design.
