Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise technologies.
- Automation & Optimization: Leverage automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and similar to streamline infrastructure management, reduce manual tasks, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring the continuous availability of systems. Respond to and resolve incidents with minimal downtime.
- Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices to ensure the infrastructure meets organizational security standards and complies with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Cost Optimization: Manage cloud resources effectively, optimizing infrastructure costs while maintaining high performance and availability.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, software engineering, and product teams, to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business requirements and technical needs.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of infrastructure setups, configurations, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve infrastructure processes, tools, and performance.
- Experience: 6 to 12 years in infrastructure engineering or related roles, with significant experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise technologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Cloud Security: Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Networking: In-depth knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, and incident management tools like PagerDuty or ServiceNow.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks and integrate with various systems.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues quickly and effectively.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first, distributed team environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Certified, or similar.
- Database Management: Experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB in distributed environments.
- DevOps Tools: Exposure to DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Experience with Virtualization: Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
