HD Tech is working with an ambitious UK-based startup that is developing a purely AI-driven alternative to Anaplan and OneStream. This tool will minimize the need for human intervention, streamlining financial planning and analysis with AI-driven automation.

The Role

We are looking for a highly capable contract Software Engineer to contribute to the proof of concept (PoC) phase, working on foundational development, AI integration, and system architecture. This is a rare opportunity to shape a product from day one and make a significant impact on how modern finance teams operate.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop a scalable AI-powered EPM tool from the ground up.
• Work on AI model development and system automation to replace traditional EPM functions.
• Develop and integrate core features, mimicking the functionality of Anaplan & OneStream while leveraging AI to enhance decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML specialists to ensure smooth deployment and integration.
• Contribute to the proof of concept, demonstrating the tool’s capabilities to investors and early adopters.
• Ensure a robust, secure, and low-maintenance system that minimizes the need for manual oversight post-deployment.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong Python, Java, or C++ development experience (or equivalent).
• Experience with AI/ML model integration and data-driven decision systems.
• Background in enterprise software, EPM tools, or financial analytics platforms is a big plus.
• Proficiency in cloud-based development (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience in building scalable systems from scratch.
• Understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and performance management is beneficial.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
