As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure while mentoring junior engineers and leading best practices in cloud deployment and automation. You will play a key role in driving cloud data infrastructure excellence and ensuring resilient, secure, and high-performing AWS-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Automate complex deployments, monitoring, and security tasks to ensure seamless operation of production systems.
- Lead initiatives to enhance system performance, availability, scalability, and security across AWS services.
- Serve as an expert on AWS networking, security, and monitoring, implementing best practices for cloud governance, compliance, and security policies.
- Collaborate with product managers and development teams to align infrastructure with product vision and roadmaps.
- Leverage AWS-native and third-party observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus) to monitor system performance and manage incidents effectively.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing guidance on cloud infrastructure, Python scripting, automation strategies, and DevOps best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and trends to enhance the team’s cloud capabilities.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a primary focus on AWS environments.
- Mandatory exposure to Snowflake for cloud data solutions.
- Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation / Terraform.
- Proven experience in automating cloud deployments and scaling services in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, etc.), cloud security (IAM, encryption, security compliance), and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python for automation and infrastructure management.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS) and orchestration.
- A collaborative and mentoring mindset, with the ability to guide and support junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical direction.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize system performance.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
