Job Description

Job Title: UI/UX Designer
Location: 100% remote - Ontario
Pay Rate: CAD $25 - $35 / hr

Job Description:
Looking for a Junior UI/UX Designer to work on a 3-6 month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for designing a clean, intuitive, and scalable interface that makes financial data accessible to all users. Your work will play a crucial role in shaping our brand identity and ensuring a frictionless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design visually compelling, user-friendly interfaces for a financial wellness platform.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, CTO, and content teams to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Translate complex financial data into digestible and engaging visual elements.
  • Iterate on existing designs to refine the overall aesthetic and usability based on user feedback.
  • Work with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX work, particularly in web and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in Figma (we are open to other design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, etc.).
  • Experience designing for web and mobile applications, with a deep understanding of responsive design.
  • Ability to simplify complex data into intuitive, engaging UI components.
  • Knowledge of UX research practices and ability to incorporate user feedback into design iterations.
  • Understanding of Agile UX methodologies is a plus.

Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience working in FinTech, HRTech, or open banking applications.
  • Familiarity with Flutter-based front-end development (not required, but helpful).
  • Knowledge of design systems and component libraries.

This is a start up client that is an early-stage fintech company developing an AI-driven financial wellness platform to help employees manage their benefits and finances using real-time data from open banking and HRIS systems. They are currently at the Mini MVP phase, utilizing mock data for user testing while ensuring a strong focus on data privacy and security. This is an opportunity to join a greenfield project dealing with emerging fintech capabilities.
