We are seeking a Software Designer with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and a proven track record in UI/UX design to join our growing team. This role is integral to designing and developing digital products that revolutionize manufacturing workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the product design process for AI-powered digital solutions tailored to biomanufacturing workflows, ensuring alignment with user needs and manufacturing goals.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers and on-site teams to understand the intricacies of biomanufacturing processes and integrate their expertise into product design.
• Design intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces that simplify complex manufacturing tasks while optimizing efficiency.
• Develop prototypes and detailed wireframes using Figma and other tools to communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders and developers.
• Translate manufacturing requirements into actionable product features, balancing functionality, user experience, and technical feasibility.
• Establish and maintain design systems that support scalability and consistency across the product ecosystem.
• Partner with front-end developers to ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet performance standards.
• Leverage your mechanical engineering background to bridge the gap between digital product design and manufacturing domain knowledge.
• Incorporate feedback from end users, including manufacturing engineers and operators, to refine and enhance product usability.
• Apply product management principles to define, prioritize, and execute product roadmaps, ensuring timely delivery of impactful solutions.
• Explore and integrate Generative AI capabilities to enhance both product functionality and the design process.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).

• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a UI/UX Designer
• Demonstrate proficiency in Visual Design.
• Demonstrated ability to design for software solutions in the manufacturing or related industries.
• Academic or professional experience in mechanical engineering with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and design tools.
• Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
• Experience integrating Generative AI into design workflows is a plus.
• Familiarity with engineering software and platforms such as CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and process design software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL).

Soft Skills:

• Strong understanding of Product Management principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
