Job Description:

We are seeking a (Junior) Data Scientist (f/m/x) to join our cross-functional team focusing on developing predictive maintenance solutions for railway tracks and switches. You will work alongside a team of experts with different backgrounds who are committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible and driving innovation forward.

Given the agile and cross-functional nature of our team, you will also be involved in developing the entire system. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across the full software development stack while working to translate your data insights into actionable solutions for our clients.

Your Impact:

• Become a part of a world-class team in condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of railway track
• Develop feature sets and insights into a wide range of data sources, including acceleration time series
• Develop and productize explainable models that are both effective and resource-efficient, capable of processing data and delivering insights in real-time (favoring simplicity over complexity)
• Contribute to continuous improvements and optimizations on existing models;
• Build tools and infrastructure that contribute to a sensor data analysis ecosystem;
• Help bring up and test algorithms on IIoT hardware systems;
• Drive innovation and contribute to intellectual property.
  
  

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:

• A degree in Statistics, Engineering, Physics or a related field
• Experience in building and testing statistical or machine learning models
• Proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language
• Ability to understand and deliver in a complex and rapidly evolving data and product environment
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal, presentation and written)
• Eagerness to learn software engineering and data engineering skills, to enhance your core data science skills
• You're a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• You're a problem-solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges.

• Experience with AWS
• Experience with SQL
• Experience building physics-based simulations and models (FEM, MBS)
