Senior Video Infrastructure Developer/Engineer - Live Streaming

We seek an experienced live stream Developer/Engineer to evolve and maintain our cloud-based streaming infrastructure for live sports. You will develop solutions using open source frameworks and tools like FFmpeg, libav, and GStreamer while ensuring reliable live content delivery.

At Ligr, we’re a small, fully remote team building cloud-based streaming and graphics software for live sports at all levels—from grassroots to professional leagues—across multiple disciplines.

Core Technical Areas

• Video streaming infrastructure development
• Media framework integration (FFmpeg, libav, GStreamer, nginx, ossrs, mediasoup etc)
• Cloud-native streaming applications
• Low latency media pipeline architecture
• System reliability and observability
  
  

Primary Responsibilities

• Build and maintain video streaming application servers
• Design reliable cloud-based streaming infrastructure
• Improve system stability and performance
• Oversee testing strategy and approach for very high uptime globally
• Assist with monitoring and automated recovery systems
• Optimize encoding pipelines and delivery performance
• Make technical decisions for platform evolution
  
  

Required Experience/Skills

• Strong C/C++ development skills, git.
• Deep production level experience with some live streaming media framework/tool FFmpeg/libav/GStreamer/Mediasoup/ossrs/nginx/obs or others.
• Experience with streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, WebRTC)
• Understanding of video/audio codecs (H.264/H.265, AAC, Opus)
• Debugging skills, optimization and reliability focus
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, linux, Docker, and build systems (Meson, CMake)
