Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Developer with strong expertise in both iOS (SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) to lead the development of our mobile applications. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create seamless, accessible, and high-performing mobile experiences that empower our users.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a product that impacts lives positively while working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven startup environment.

This is a 3 month contract, commencing January 27th and completing on April 27th, with the possibility of an extension.

This role is 100% remote and can be done from anywhere in Australia

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly mobile applications for iOS (SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin).
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and implement innovative solutions that meet user needs and technical requirements.
• Lead the technical architecture and contribute to decision-making processes regarding frameworks, libraries, and tools.
• Ensure mobile applications are optimized for performance, security, and accessibility, with a strong focus on inclusivity.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and future-proof our applications.
• Work closely with QA to implement and refine testing strategies, ensuring high reliability across platforms.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

• 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development.
• Expertise in iOS development using SwiftUI.
• Expertise in Android development using Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles and ability to work closely with designers.
• Proven experience in building and deploying apps to the App Store and Google Play Store.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and integrating backend services.
• Solid understanding of mobile performance optimization and debugging tools.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Desirable:

• Experience with accessibility standards and ensuring applications are WCAG-compliant.
• Familiarity with agile development practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
• Experience in startup environments or working on mission-driven products.
