Job Description

Dev Ops Engineer


Both Japanese and English is required.

As this is for a Japanese company, operating primarily in Japanese with English as the next most commonly used language, you should be able to communicate (spoken and written) at a professional level in either one of Japanese or English, while also being at least conversationally fluent in the other.




Required Qualifications:

●     Kubernetes Expertise on AWS (EKS): Proven experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS, including cluster autoscaling and spot instance utilization.

●     Docker Proficiency: Strong ability to containerize applications and manage Docker images.

●     Helm/Kustomize Experience: Skilled in deploying applications using Helm charts and/or Kustomize.

●     Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.

●     CI/CD Pipeline Setup: Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.

●     Version Control Systems and GitOps Practices: Proficient with Git, including advanced features, and familiar with modern repository management strategies and GitOps practices.

●     Security Management Practices: Knowledge of security best practices, including secret management and securing repositories.

●     Monitoring and Logging: Experience implementing logging, metrics, and error tracking solutions (e.g., Sentry) in Kubernetes environments.

●     Secret and Certificate Management: Proficiency in managing secrets and certificates within Kubernetes clusters.

●     Vulnerability Scanning: Familiarity with integrating vulnerability scanners into CI/CD pipelines or Kubernetes clusters.

●     Multi-Environment Deployment: Experience with automating deployments to multiple environments (staging, production).

●     Documentation Skills: Ability to create comprehensive project documentation.

●     Knowledge of Stateful Services in AWS: Understanding of different stateful service approaches in AWS, such as cloud-native databases (RDS, DynamoDB), EBS, S3, etc.

●     Infrastructure Tools Experience: Experience with infrastructure tools like Kubecost, Kubevious, and ScaleOps.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

●     Karpenter Knowledge: Familiarity with Karpenter for Kubernetes cluster autoscaling.

●     Familiarity with PHP/JavaScript/Python: Understanding of PHP, JavaScript, and Python ecosystems.

●     Identity and Authentication Management: Knowledge of AWS Cognito or similar services for identity and authentication management.

●     Database Migration Tools: Experience with automated database migration systems such as Alembic or similar.

●     Continuous Learning: Up-to-date with modern DevOps tools and practices relevant to Kubernetes and AWS environments.
