DevOps Security Engineer

This role is fully remote, but candidates need to be local to Austin, TX


Position Overview/Responsibilities for the DevOps Security Engineer:

  • Support our client's Operations, AWS Cloud Migration, and Authority to Connect projects by applying information security threat intelligence to identify and exploit vulnerabilities within different environments.
  • Perform daily analysis of on-prem and cloud security, and monitor security operations including security architecture reviews.
  • Coordinate and execute security policies and controls, as well as assess vulnerabilities within the company.
  • Understand regulatory requirements, have in-depth knowledge of industry standards and trends, and be proficient with the latest cybersecurity software.
  • Manage various projects and plan and oversee all aspects of the projects.


Required Skills for DevOps Security Engineer:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on data and network security processing, security systems management, and security violation investigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud Security.
  • Strong ability to identify problems/issues, analyze and evaluate alternatives, and recommend/implement effective solutions.
  • Experience implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data.
  • Extensive experience with working with and implementing NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, MARS-E controls, POA&Ms, and developing Corrective Action Plans.
  • Experience with Security web application firewalls.
  • Experience with managing conflict and resolving issues at managerial levels.
