Mobile App Developer (React Native)

We are seeking a talented React Native developer to join our small team and help build a cross-platform mobile application. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of React Native, JavaScript and mobile development best practices. We are a fully distributed, remote-first, international company that embraces agile methodologies. You will be working alongside experienced engineers, designers and product managers.

At Sporting Rock we are developing and operating sports management systems. We organize sports!

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a reliable React Native app (iOS and Android)
• Stay up-to-date with the latest React Native technologies and trends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features
• Craft clean, maintainable and well-documented code
• Participate in agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes

Additional Skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React and React Native
• Experience with native mobile development (iOS and Android) is a plus
• Familiarity with mobile development tools and workflows
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Git experience for version control
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective remote work

Bonus Points

• Experience as a Front-End Developer, particularly with React and Twig
• Expertise in CSS preprocessors (e.g., Sass, PostCSS)
• Experience working in agile environments
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest
• UX design principles understanding
