Lead Mobile Engineer

Are you a seasoned Mobile Engineer with strong leadership skills and a passion for Android development? We're working with an exciting, high-growth AI start-up in the health tech sector, and they’re looking for a talented Lead Mobile Engineer to join their fully remote team.

The Role: As the Lead Mobile Engineer, you’ll split your time between hands-on Android development (using Kotlin) and managing a team of four mobile developers. You’ll oversee the development of cutting-edge Android applications, guiding the team to deliver high-quality, user-friendly products that make a real difference in healthcare. Your leadership will also extend to providing engineering management support for the iOS team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Android development team.
• Oversee product development, architecture, and deployment of Android apps.
• Establish and maintain best practices for mobile software development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product vision and delivery.
• Promote a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and agile methodologies.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Lead Mobile Engineer or Engineering Manager.
• Strong background in Android development with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and RESTful APIs.
• Leadership experience managing Android teams in a startup environment.
• Ability to inspire and mentor a high-performing, cohesive team.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
