Title : Application Database Administrator (DBA)
Type: Permanent / Full-Time
Location: Fully remote - must be UK based
Salary : Up to £60,000 per annum + attractive benefits
Core hours : Monday- Wednesday 9am to 3pm and Thursday -Friday 9am too 2pm + Flexi time
Are you an experienced Application Database Administrator (DBA) looking to shape database performance and provide expert guidance in a dynamic environment? We're seeking a talented professional to work closely with development teams, optimize SQL queries, and support highly available database services.
Role Overview:
As an Application DBA, you’ll proactively assist development teams, identify and resolve performance issues, and ensure our SQL Server environments run smoothly and securely. This is a hands-on role, where you'll bring best practices to database design, troubleshoot issues in real time, and support both development and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, resolve, and provide solutions for poorly performing SQL queries.
- Guide development teams on SQL best practices and performance optimization.
- Assist with SQL Server management, health monitoring, and system performance.
- Ensure security, high availability, and performance of the SQL Server environment.
- Automate regular processes, track issues, and perform scheduled maintenance (out-of-hours flexibility needed).
Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing SQL Server databases, including configuration and maintenance.
- Familiarity with SQL Server AlwaysOn, backup types, and SQL Azure tools.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work autonomously or within a team.
