Software Engineer

Piyata is a technology startup that is transforming local service business in Africa and empowering the youth to embrace entrepreneurship by making it easy to monetize their skills. Piyata's current mobile apps (Piyata Beauty and Piyata Business) focus on the beauty industry by allowing beauty businesses or professionals to reach their customers and customers to book and receive services on time, all at their fingertips. We, at Piyata, believe that the African youth has so much untapped potential and we are building platforms that create opportunities and development.

Piyata is looking for versatile full stack software engineers, in Rwanda and Ghana, who are capable of working in a collaborative team to enhance and build highly scalable mobile and web applications.

Skills And Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience (3 years+) developing and testing scalable cloud native web or mobile systems in Flutter, Flask, Python, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Extensive experience or projects (3 years+) developing modern websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or other related languages and frameworks such as React Js, Node Js, Vue Js, and more.
• Strong knowledge of Algorithms and Data Structures.
• Experience with machine learning models and AI integration is highly encouraged.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and storage (AWS S3, GCP, Firebase, MongoDB Atlas, Heroku, etc)
• Experience using Git and GitHub or GitLab for team collaboration.
• Familiarity with Figma or other UI/UX design apps is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English (French or one at least one local language is a plus).

More Information

This role is fully remote, and you will be required to meet with the team virtually at least once a week.

It is a full-time paid role with monthly salary ranging between 400 USD - 1000 USD based on candidate qualifications.
