Senior Devops / R&D Engineer

Servers.com is a global IaaS hosting platform providing a full range of computing, storage, and networking services to customers in the US, Europe, and Asia. We are building a fully automated platform capable of meeting the diverse requirements of our customers.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with experience in technologies such as Linux administration, storage solutions, networking, Ansible or other configuration management software, HA solutions, CI/CD, infrastructure testing, and metric-based monitoring systems to join our team in Cyprus as a R&D engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Research and adoption of tools and technologies.
• Direct participation in the development of internal and public products of the company.
• Writing code for automatic configuration of developed products and automation of processes.
• Writing tests to verify the functionality of written code.
• Reviewing code and documentation changes made by colleagues.
• Assisting colleagues (including those from other departments) with troubleshooting complicated cases (diagnosing, localizing, resolving bugs and failures).
• Writing accompanying internal documentation for the developed products.

Required skills and competencies:

• Good knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals: Linux (administration and internals), Storage, Networking (BGP, VXLANs, host routing).
• Knowledge of Ansible or other configuration management software.
• Understanding and work experience with at least some HA solutions (pacemaker, database solutions: galera/etcd).
• Practical experience and understanding of principles of CI/CD and infrastructure testing.
• Experience and solid understanding of metric-based monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of Python or Go programming language.

A knowledge and experience with following technologies is a plus:

• Kubernetes
• eBPF
• Ceph or similar class distributed storage system
• Open vSwitch or other SDN solution
• OpenStack
