Senior FPGA Engineer (With Open Source experience) Abu Dhabi – will required relocation


€110,000 -150,000 Euro's + relocation package, education allowance, healthcare, flights, and 40 days holiday.


My client, a cutting-edge Research and Development group specializing in Defence and Commercial Electronics, is seeking an experienced Senior FPGA Engineer to join their innovative Electronics R&D team.


You must HAVE this some of this key experience (1yr Plus)

Linux, Yosys, Amaranth - Preference is LiteX experience


The role will be doing

Selection, development, and integration of FPGAs for prototypes: Low-level hardware control and status for embedded systems

High-speed links, high-level IP blocks, custom hardware-accelerated algorithms and filters


Responsibilities:


- Develop, architect, and integrate FPGA and CPLD solutions

- Design, code, simulate, and test FPGA logic

- Provide expertise on design and automated test development

- Research and analyze data for design feasibility

- Debug and stress test designs in the lab

- Synthesis, implementation, and timing analysis

- Communicate project status and risks

- Present results at reviews and technical conferences

- Oversee design team activities

- Design or direct leading-edge technology to meet mission requirements

- Work on the study, development, and test of hardware and data systems

- Design and test advanced digital logic in VHDL

- Simulate digital circuits to meet performance, timing, and power requirements

- Debug digital systems at the circuit level

- Collaborate in multi-functional project teams with minimal supervision

- Adhere to all CACI Ethical and Compliance policies

- Ensure a safe work environment and comply with EH&S policies

- Complete engineering tasks and organizational missions as needed


Skills Required:


- Proficient in Verilog RTL language

- Experience with large FPGA development on Altera or Xilinx devices

- Familiarity with Altera's or Xilinx's build flow

- Lab FPGA debug methodologies (ChipScope, SignalTap)

- Lab debug equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)

- Verification methodologies, RTL and gate level simulations and debug

- Debugging silicon and PCB issues

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Simulation tools (Mentor Graphics QuestaSim, ModelSim, Xilinx Vivado simulator)

- High-speed data paths and interfaces (Ethernet, JESD204, Aurora, CPRI, PCIe)

- Standard device interconnects (I2C, UART, SPI, USB)

- Source control systems (Perforce, GIT)

- Ability to read and understand schematics and data sheets

- Embedded software development (C/C++) for FPGAs and other systems


Ideal Qualifications:


- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

- Strong foundations in digital design and communications

- 5+ years of experience with embedded systems:

- Micro-controllers, microprocessors (ARM), computers

- Processor peripheral interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, high-speed serial I/Fs)

- Industry-standard protocols (PCI Express, USB, Ethernet)

- Board bring-up and debug of digital hardware
