Application Engineer/Administrator (relocation to the Netherlands)
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Application Engineer/Administrator willing to relocate to or currently located in Hague, the Netherlands.
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer/Administrator to manage the installation, configuration, and administration of applications in both production and non-production environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting mid-to-large scale IT infrastructures, ensuring smooth operation, performance tuning, and proactive application maintenance. You will also contribute to automation, documentation, and the development of our technical knowledgebase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and administer applications in both production and non-production environments.
- Monitor application performance, fine-tune systems, and ensure continuous improvement in efficiency and service quality.
- Provide support and maintenance, including incident, change, release management, and problem resolution.
- Write and validate application procedures, troubleshooting guides, backup, and restore plans.
- Automate recurring system administration tasks and provide technical documentation as required.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting ICT Operations.
- Generate reports on application availability, performance, capacity, and usage as needed.
Main requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, focusing on application deployment, support, and maintenance.
- 5+ years of experience in the administration and support of recent versions of Microsoft Windows Servers and/or Red-Hat Linux in enterprise environments.
- 5+ years of experience in application administration, specifically focusing on SharePoint and OpenText Content Server.
- 2+ years of experience with DevOps and automated deployment and configuration scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python).
- 2+ years of experience with configuration management tools for applications (e.g. Puppet).
- In-depth knowledge of deploying and administering SharePoint clusters.
- Strong experience in deploying and administering OpenText Content Server.
- Proficiency in integration technologies and protocols, such as RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
- Familiarity with OpenText Content Server APIs and SDKs for programmatic access to documents and metadata.
- Experience with SharePoint customizations, including web parts, event receivers, and workflows.
- Proficiency in shell and/or PowerShell scripting.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and release management.
- Experience with configuration management concepts and technologies (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey).
Desirable:
- 2+ years of experience developing SharePoint customizations (web parts, event receivers, workflows) using C#, ASP.NET, and JavaScript for client-side development.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and their interaction with applications.
